We all need to decorate from time-to-time; it’s what makes our houses homes. However, decorating does not need to break the bank, nor does it need to be difficult or stressful as personalising your domain should be a fun activity that all the family can get in on. This blog post is for those who wish to redecorate their living rooms, create a modern feel and not spend lots of money. ScS will show you how you can have the basics for under £50, without skimping on style (subject to status).
Whether you are decorating because you have just moved into your house, or even if it’s because you fancy a change of style and design, this blog aims to show you how to do it cheaply. All of the products featured in this post are available from ScS to purchase and a link will be provided next to the image so you can view the product in more detail.
1) First things first: flooring
Of course, the cost of your flooring really does depend on the size of the room you wish to install it, but for the purposes of this blog, we’ll assume that your living room is around the 4.8 x 4.8 mark, which is the national average for UK living rooms.
For flooring, we recommend our Bronze Clic 6 Laminate which is made from high quality wood and designed for busy homes. The bronze laminate parquet is easy to keep clean and is resistant to scuffs and spills. Designed for heavy domestic use, this laminate comes in two colours and with a 10 year guarantee. Based on a 4.8 x 4.8 room, we have calculated the cost of this flooring at £199.80, or £30.97 per month.
2) Your sofa
Sofas can be very expensive to buy, so we’ve done our research and picked a highly popular model which is modern, comfortable and economical. The Finlay large sofa features super soft jumbo cord fabric with foam filled seat cushions and fibre filled removable and reversible back cushions, so it is easy to keep clean! This sofa is available in coffee, cream, silver, charcoal, and chocolate and cream.
3) Extra seats
Although the Finlay Large sofa is as the name suggests, you can still get more sofa for your hard-earned money. Why not throw in a Finlay chair? Having more seats in your living room will allow you to spend time with more people, well, at least comfortably anyway…
4) Add some furniture
Adding furniture to your room, other than the sofas themselves, will help to fill any open spaces whilst also introducing an element of style. We have suggested adding the Coxmoor coffee table to your room; it’s one of our most popular and you can also add other products from the range at a later date, such as a dining table or sideboard, should you choose to do so.
5) Add a lamp
Add a lamp to your room as they’re not only a great source of light, they help to set the atmosphere and can create different moods. Made from gold ceramic and with a tall, slim vase shape, this lamp is beautifully modern and stylish.
6) Happy New Room
So you’ve read this far and you are probably thinking, ‘well what’s the damage?’ Personally, we wouldn’t refer to the total monthly cost as ‘damage’; we would say it is more like a bargain. So are you ready?
That’s one super comfy, large Finlay sofa, one snug and soft Finlay chair, high quality modern and durable flooring throughout your room, a gorgeous Coxmoor coffee table and a luscious Theo table lamp, all for just £46.53 per month (interest free). That’s just £946.79!
However, don’t stop there. Visit our website for an entire range of products, including dining tables, mirrors, artwork and more which you can use to enhance your room further. www.scs.co.uk
