As the cold autumn nights start to arrive, a good box set is a must. From Sky to Netflix, and everything in-between, we’ve done our research and compiled a list of the top five must shows this winter.

So, bring the duvet downstairs and get the snacks ready, because it’s time to become engulfed in the best box sets 2017 has to offer:

Taboo

Tom Hardy’s return to TV proved a massive success, as his dark drama returns to BBC for a second season. This stylish period piece sees Hardy mix bring his gangster, hard man swagger with dark African voodoo magic in a series that will have you hooked from start to finish.

Riviera

Already available on Sky Box Sets, Riviera is a stylish sunny drama set on France’s Cote d’Azur – the home to the super rich. The show has proved an instant success, with critics dubbing it ‘the new Night Manager.’ This tense drama is the perfect box set to keep you entertained as the wind and rain swirls outside.

Peaky Blinders

Set in Birmingham, this period gangster drama has taken the UK by storm, and has earned a third season on the BBC. Batman Begins star Cillian Murphy plays the lead role in this slick, smart and grotesquely gruesome 1920s drama. Our advice – go back to the beginning and watch the entire box set.

Stranger Things

This Netflix Original has been the name on everyone’s lips this summer, and it will prove more than worth the hype. This brilliantly scary horror series follows four 1980s kids, one telekinetic super-girl and an inter-dimensional monster that walks through walls. Sound interesting? Of course it does!

Westworld

This remake of the classic 1970s sci-fi film was one of the most hotly anticipated new shows in years. It centres on a theme park that recreates the Wild West and is filled with life-like androids, with human guests allowed to partake in all the mischief and violence of the era. Drama, disaster and action – a cocktail for success!
