On a daily basis, endless re-runs of these shows can be found on TV, and there’s nothing like curling up on the sofa, watching easy TV.
Friends is still as popular today as it was when the last episode was aired in 2004, and we want to know, where are the cast now?
Courtney Cox has played it pretty cool since Friends came to an end, playing support roles in a number of films such as The Longest Yard, Bedtime Stories and Mothers and Daughters, along with reprising her role as Gale Weathers in Scream 4. Cox has also made guest appearances on a number of TV shows, but has evaded any form of major role, and it seems we’re unlikely to see her anytime soon.
Lisa Kudrow has kept herself busy since 2004, starring in a film almost every year. 2016 saw her star in Girl On The Train, which went on to become one of the biggest films of the year, and this year she’s starring in The Baby Boss, which is set to be another huge box office hit. The role with see her reunite with Alec Baldwin, who you may remember, once played Phoebe’s highly excitable boyfriend Parker in Friends.
Jennifer Aniston has probably enjoyed more success than any of her fellow cast members since the show ended, starring in some highly successful films such as Marley and Me, Bruce Almighty, Just Go with It and Horrible Bosses. 2017 has seen her star in The Yellow Birds, which was based on the New York Time Best Selling novel by Kevin Powers, and received a largely mixed response from critics.
David Schwimmer disappeared from the spotlight after Friends, with his most major role coming as the voice of Melman in the Madagascar films. However, 2016 saw him re-emerge with his adaptation of Robert Kardashian in The People vs OJ Simpson, which saw widespread praise from media outlets world over and went on to become the most watched show since FX started making TV in 1994.
Matt LeBlanc was the only one to carry on his Friends role after the show ended, when he got his own show ‘Joey.’ After poor reviews the show was dropped, and he took a five year break from acting, before returning to the screen in British / American comedy Episodes, in which he plays the lead role. The show is still running, and season five is set to air this year. Alongside this, LeBlanc’s love of cars has led to him taking on a presenter’s role in Topgear.
It seems it’s all been downhill for Matthew Perry since his days as Chandler Bing. Aside from his role, alongside Zac Efron in 2010’s 17 Again, Perry has seen most of his projects receive a negative response from critics, including his ongoing sitcom The Odd Couple. Last year saw reviews pick up with his dark comedy Broadway play The End Of Longing, which also did a successful stint in the West End.
With the exception of Jennifer Aniston, it seems that Friends was very much the peak of their careers, and for now we suggest you snuggle up on your sofa and stick to the Friends re-runs!
